WINGS OF FIRE: CHAPTER-1: STRONG ROOTS VOCABULARY

Dear Students!

During classroom teaching I have given task to make the list of difficult vocabulary from an autobiography of Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam to all second year classes.

I feel happy to share that two of students have done the task successfully. I am going to send you list of difficult vocabulary from chapter-1 written by Krishna Patel, Sem-III- A.

Good Task Krishna and Janki ( from SEM-III-C).


1)      Generous- showing a readiness to give more of something, especially money, than is strictly necessary or expected
2)      Distinguished- very successful, authoritative, and commanding great respect.
3)      Ancestor- a person, typically one more remote than a grandparent, from whom one is descended.
4)      Frugally- Lavishly.
5)      Austere- Simple. (Word of the day)
6)      Amicably- looks.
7)      Faintest- Loud and unclear.
8)      Unpretentious - Honest. (Word of the Day)
9)      Jolt- Shock
10)  Complacency- Self-Satisfaction.
11)  Self-conceit- Inspire.
12)  Shackle- Bond
13)  Ferry- Type of boat.
14)  Composure- Accepting the problem.
15)  Gale- Strong wind.
16)  Wrecked- Destroyed. (New Word).
